PTS services for the paper industry
A staff of 140 highly qualified specialists generates an annual turnover amounting to € 16m at two locations in Munich and Heidenau. PTS supports industry in line with the goals of the foundation by conducting co-operative research, contract research and consultancy, training and testing services:
- 80 research projects with a funding volume of € 8m
- Contract research and consultancy projects to implement the results of public research in industry, volume of € 3m
- 35 symposia, seminars and workshops attracting some 1,800 participants
- 400 measuring and testing contracts as well as expert opinions
- Education of engineers, technicians and master craftsmen in the form of:
- Part-time lectureships in Paper and Packaging Process Technology at Munich University of Applied
- Sciences and in the field of Paper Converting at Darmstadt Technical University
- Subject teachers for paper converting technicians and for training courses for industrial master craftsmen in the field of paper converting
- Dissertations, research papers and PhD offers for students in the fields of paper manufacturing and paper converting
- Active participation in national and international networks like the Paper Research Cluster (Cluster Papierforschung), the Forest-based Sector Technology Platform, EFPRO etc.
