Funds and project executing organisations

Based on its memebership in the German Federation of Industrial Research Associations "Otto von Guericke" (AiF) PTS is doing research within a network of national and european partners. The knowledge gained from collective research is transferred to industrial practice via publications,lectures and continuing education events as well as by contract research and consulting projects.

The requirements of industry influence research planning at PTS. Some 50 to 60 suggestions for R&D projects originate from industry every year. The funding requests submitted to the German Federal Government, the Länder and the European Commission generate about 40 projects annually with a total of 100 man-years and a funding volume of approx. € 8m.

Industrial collective research is promoted by the German Ministry of Economics and Labour (BMWA) via AiF which is the most important PTS partner. Of crucial relevance to PTS among the various programmes is INNOWATT that is promoted by the BMWi via Euronorm as the project administrator. About 20 % of the funds come from programmes promoted by the EU, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) the states of Bavaria and Saxony and industrial organisations.
