Innovative developments of products and processes in PTS pilot plants

The transfer of new products and processes into industrial practice frequently turns out to be much more expensive and time-consuming than initially anticipated. This is because laboratory results are not always reproducible in an industrial environment. The obvious solution to this problem is pilot-scale tests as an intermediate step. Pilot plant stations can simulate the full-scale parameters and conditions well enough to derive reliable information on the later behaviour of new developments in everyday industrial operations.
